All the liquor that I was consuming had me pissing like crazy. I felt good as hell but had been to the bathroom twice in the past hour. It had been many years since Justice and I had a birthday party, and I was enjoying the hell out of myself. All three of us had pitched in, and the $5,000 that we spent on the party was well worth it. Once I emerged from the bathroom, I grabbed my bottle of Ace of Spades champagne by the neck as I searched the room.

“Long time no hear.” I looked down to see Paris standing in front of me, and I kissed my teeth.

“You real bold to be in my face at the same party that Chicago is at. You haven’t heard from me because I found out you’re in a relationship with my father,” I hit her with a look of disgust.

Paris parted her lips to speak but before one word pushed from her throat, her eyes widened prompting me to look over my shoulder and see what had her so spooked. Chicago. His brows were furrowed, and there was a look of disdain on his face as he inched towards Paris.

“What’s good?” his gaze darted from her face to mine.

Wise suggested that no one say anything to Chicago until after his wedding, but the jig was up. I shook my head slightly as I waited to see if Paris would fill him in.

“I was just asking Loyal how he was and wishing him happy birthday, baby,” Paris’s syrupy sweet voice made my skin crawl. She lied with so much ease that it was scary.

Chicago’s jaw muscles flexed as he looked over at me. “What’s up?” He clearly didn’t believe Paris, and I wasn’t about to protect her. It was what it was.

“She approached me a few weeks back in the club. Said she was on X and feeling freaky. She sucked my dick in the club, and we linked after. I didn’t know she was your girl until the dinner at your house.”

Chicago’s dark irises penetrated Paris on an entirely different level.

“Baby,” she started in a frantic voice. “Please let me explain.”

Ignoring her, Chicago focused on me. “What happened to the G code? You didn’t feel the need to tell me?”

“I wasn’t sure how to handle it. I talked to Wise about it and he sug―”

Chicago pressed his palms together as if he was about to pray. “Listen, this is your night. We won’t even ruin it with fuck shit. You enjoy yourself. A slut has never and will never come in between me and mine.”

“Slut?” Paris drew back and had the nerve to appear offended. “You know how I get off X, and you wouldn’t fuck me because as usual you’re always busy putting everything and everyone before me.”

“You better make it home before I do. Because once I’m there, you won’t be taking anything I bought you with you, and we both know I’ve bought you a whole hell of a lot,” Chicago’s nostrils flared as he spoke.
